Donor's Choice
About the Donor's Choice recipient:
After our awards judge made her selections, we had an unexpected donation for our
CONNECTING the LINES 2025 exhibition. We were surprised, thrilled, and humbled.
As a thank you to the donor, we allowed them to select a work for recognition.
A work which they felt was overlooked and needed to be commended.
Below is the selected work with comments from the donor.

Donor's Choice Receipient - Diane Curran
Perfectly Imperfect
CP, water-soluble pastel - NFS
Donor's Comments: This composition provides the viewer with a lovely moment between a child and adult that spans the generation gap. The focus and attention of the child as she paints the nails of the experienced hands of the adult draws the viewer farther into the scene. The story of the scene unfolds as the viewer notices that the other nails have been completed and the child is working on the last nail. The job is fair from perfect, but the memories of the interaction for both of the participants will likely last for the rest of their lives. Drama is enhanced by the darkened border which contrasts beautifully with the light filled interaction. There are many textures rendered with skill in this composition, not the least of which is the texture of the child's hands contrasting with the life lines on the hands of the adult. Perfectly imperfect!
