Submission Criteria
Open to all artists 18 years of age or older.
2D art only. No 3D or sculptural works.
Work cannot be older than 3 years. Nothing completed prior to 2023.
CONNECTING the LINES 2025 non-merited works can be resubmitted, only if they were created in 2023 to present.
All entered art must be created using colored pencil as the sole or primary medium. (Minimum 60% c.p.)
All references for art entered must be of the artist's own hand. Artists must use their own photo reference, from life or their own imagination. No images from outside sources. (Even with permission.)
Diptych and Triptych works can be entered. All components must be shown in one image only.
There are no size restrictions regarding the actual art.
Our online art gallery is family-friendly - work that contains vulgarity, advocates for violence, showcases explicit nudity, or promotes any extreme content deemed inappropriate by screeners will not be accepted.
No celebrity portraits or fan art will be accepted.
All submitted art must be hand-created traditionally. We will not accept AI (Artificial Intelligence) digitally created colored pencil simulation art, or any digitally generated images.
Art created in art classes, workshops, or with assistance from a teacher will not be accepted.
All entries are screened. Acceptance is not guaranteed. No entry fee refund if disqualified.
Entry Rules and Sales
Entry is online via PayPal, Venmo, Zelle, or by check. Entries are not accepted without a completed online entry form and the correct payment processed online. Check payable information will be on the entry form.
All entry fees and award payouts are conducted in US Dollars.
By entering our exhibition, the artist automatically agrees to our submission criteria. (See above.)
WE WILL NOT FACILITATE SALES ONLINE - Artists can mark works "for sale" or NFS ("not for sale") with the directive to "Contact CPSA Boise DC 225 with interest in purchasing art". Should we be contacted, we will connect the buyer with the artist. The artist will be fully responsible for all transactions, shipping, handling, and sales tax. Once the transaction is completed, CPSA Boise (DC 225) requires a 15% sales commission from the artist.
Copyright, Liability, and Promotional Release
Artwork may be used for promotional items, such as press releases, social media content, or printed promotional materials.
The gallery screeners or judge(s) reserve the right to deny an artwork entry into the exhibition for any practical or contextual reason.
