Execution
Artwork must be primarily colored pencil. All entered art must be created using colored pencil as the sole or primary medium.
Artwork must be two-dimensional. No 3D or sculpted works. Diptychs and triptychs may be entered if matted in a single frame with multiple windows.
Artwork must have been completed after January 1, 2022.
Ideation
Artwork must be solely the original concept and design of the submitting artist.
Not Allowed
Work copied from any copyrighted or published materials
Work in which the primary subject has been copied directly from someone else’s photograph, even with permission. This includes images from online free-reference sites.
Work created using AI-generated images for reference.
Reproductions such as prints or giclees of artwork.
Any printed or digitally produced image as part of the artwork.
Works created as a tutorial, with assistance from a teacher, or a workshop project.
Work that contains vulgarity, advocates for violence, showcases explicit nudity, or promotes any extreme content deemed inappropriate by screeners will not be accepted.
No celebrity portraits or fan art.
Framing and Shipping
Finer Frames has offered to frame any pieces at a 25% discount. Unframed work needs to be delivered to Finer Frames by March 25, 2025.
Framed pieces should adhere to conventional gallery exhibition standards. There are no restrictions as to the size and hanging style of your frame.
Artwork being shipped to the show can be delivered directly to Finer Frames on or before April 7, 2025. Shipping costs and liability are the responsibility of the artist. It is recommended to insure your package. A return shipping label must be included in your package.
Disqualification
Boise 225 CPSA chapter, the juror, and the gallery reserve the right to disqualify an entry at any time if it is determined that it fails to meet ideation, execution, or framing specifications. Penalties include immediate removal of disqualified work from the exhibit and return of any money or goods awarded as prizes.
Liability
The gallery and CPSA Boise 225 are not liable for any work delivered in damaged condition. The gallery will take every precaution for artwork in its premises during the run of the exhibition.
Sales and Commission
Artists can mark works "for sale" or NFS ("not for sale"). Finer Frames will collect payment and the artist will receive 80% of the sale price.
Permissions and Copyrights
By submitting an entry, the Artist grants permission for CPSA Boise 225 to use the accepted image in its newsletter, on its website at www.cpsaboise225.com, and for brochures and promotional materials either in print or online.
